Misaligned teeth can affect your smile and negatively impact your confidence and oral health. Think traditional braces are the best way to straighten teeth? Think again! At The Dentists at Houston Westchase, we are preferred providers of Invisalign, the most popular clear alternative to deliver exceptional results in less time than traditional metal braces.
Traditional metal braces are an effective treatment for straightening teeth, but adult and teenage patients often dislike how these braces make them look. Invisalign® is an orthodontic alternative that takes a different approach. For many patients, Invisalign® can achieve the same results as braces without altering how you look, feel, or speak.
Drs. McRay or Robbins use advanced 3D scanners to create a live preview of how your smile will look following treatment. Before you start your Invisalign® treatment, our patients will know how their end result will look and what they can look forward to. Powerful, transformative technology available to every patient, every case, every time for the results you desire!
Patients often dislike the frequency of their appointments to adjust metal braces throughout the treatment timeline. With Invisalign, you don't have nearly as many check-up appointments because there is nothing to adjust. Your Invisalign® aligner trays are prefabricated before beginning your treatment, so you spend less time in the office and more time living your life.
The treatment timeline for traditional metal braces typically takes three to four years. Invisalign® can often produce the same orthodontic results in less time. Invisalign's most extensive treatment timeline is three years – maximum – while minor cases of misalignment and malocclusion can be corrected in as little as six months.
The Dentists at Houston Westchase are ready to create a custom Invisalign® treatment plan that works with your lifestyle and achieves your goals. Our team will guide you through every stage of the process, from scheduling your consultation to maintaining your new and improved smile.
The first step of the Invisalign® treatment process is scheduling and attending your initial consultation with Dr. McRay or Dr. Robbins. During your appointment, you and your doctor will discuss your ultimate goals and how best to achieve the results you desire. Then, they will use CT scans and 3D images of your teeth to create a real-time preview of how your smile will look following the completion of your treatment.

Once you have your Invisalign® aligners, you can begin the treatment process. The clear aligners are designed for you to wear every day, all day, except during meals and cleaning. Just pop the aligners out before eating, clean your teeth afterward by brushing and flossing, then pop them back onto your teeth.
You will change out your current aligners for the next set of aligners about every two weeks. The new aligner trays will feel snugger at first because they will move your teeth a few millimeters from their current position. This process is repeated every two weeks, with periodic check-in appointments every six months for Dr. McRay or Dr. Robbins to ensure the treatment is on a successful trajectory.
By the time your Invisalign® treatment concludes, you will see a brand new smile looking back in the mirror. The ultimate treatment timeline varies from a few months to three years, at which time, you can maintain the stunning results by taking good care of your oral health. Most patients receive a prescription for a retainer after completing their Invisalign® treatment to help their teeth adjust to the final positions.
If you have been putting off orthodontic treatment because you don't want metal braces, Invisalign® lets you improve your smile without disrupting your life. You don't have to sacrifice your self-image to achieve healthier teeth and a straighter smile. Call our office to schedule your consultation today and find out how Invisalign® clear aligners can improve the health of your teeth and enhance the beauty of your smile.
